Tom came to Connor with a few years of drumming already under his belt. His first teacher was fantastic, but a home move and Covid meant we needed to find a replacement and Tom had a clear idea of what he wanted from a drum teacher. As his parent, I had similar, but slightly different ideas! The bar was set high but Connor has delivered for both of us, and some - he is both inspiring and firm, student-centred and able to push and extend. We were recommended Connor post-Covid and were keen to move away from the online teaching that had worked well through necessity, but had led to poor posture and plateauing for Tom. Tom's taste in music has always been eclectic, and Connor has continued to introduce him to new bands and genres working on both technique and theory in a way that continues to push Tom. He always comes back from his lessons inspired, and practicing has never been an issue as he is keen to show Connor what he has done between classes. Connor has been such a great role-model...definitely a keeper!

Whenever I leave Connor’s class, the first thing i think to myself is: 'I can't wait to get home to play drums'. His lessons are the only class that leaves me more motivated than when I started, and the exercises never feel repetitive or boring.
Being able to play simultaneously with the teacher makes everything so much more efficient. I don't think I'd be able to take classes where I'm the only one on the kit anymore, it makes such a big difference."

The experience is great! Most lessons are fun and, honestly it’s a breather to make Monday’s more enjoyable. It feels nice to talk to Connor and makes me a little more motivated to push myself to do things outside of my comfort zone (not just in drumming, but, life as well).

Connor has been my son’s drum teacher for the past 2 1/2 years, and I can honestly say he’s had an amazing impact on his musical development. As a teacher, Connor is incredibly patient, always taking the time to explain concepts in detail and making sure my son fully grasps each lesson before moving forward. He’s attentive to my son’s individual needs and adjusts his approach accordingly. With his deep knowledge of both music and drumming techniques, it’s clear that Connor genuinely cares about helping his students grow. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I highly recommend Connor—his expertise, teaching style and calm demeanour make learning both enjoyable and effective!

As a trained musician myself, I have nothing but praise to say about Connor’s teaching style. My daughter has a weekly drum class online with him. I cannot emphasize enough how excellent he is at teaching kids and teens. Always finding the right word of encouragement to keep them interested, the right drill to keep them challenged, and the right songs to make them life-long passionate musicians.

My teenage son and I have been taking lessons with Connor for about a year now. My son needs a teacher who keeps his attention, challenges him and can teach him lots of musical genres. I need someone who is very patient, and teaches me rock n’ roll drumming slowly and step-by-step. Connor is both of these teachers! He is an awesome player, knows how to play every song that we throw at him, is very kind and has a good sense of humour. Connor keeps my son on his toes and encourages me not to give up! If you’re a beginner, intermediate or experienced drummer, Connor is the teacher for you.

To say that Connor is a phenomenal teacher would be a genuine understatement. Lessons not only consist of well-communicated techniques, habits in practice, etc, but how to really love music and playing drums. What sets these lessons apart from others is that he will always find ways to keep you motivated and excited about learning to play, setting every student up for success. Regardless of drumming experience, I would highly recommend.

Connor is an encouraging and experienced drum instructor, his lessons are always fun and I’ve noticed improvements in my playing every week. He is great at helping you develop creativity and song construction, as well as technical skills. Connor maintained the same quality in his lessons when we had to switch online as he did in person. He is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of learning drums and will notice aspects of your playing which need improvement and teach you how to deal with them in a way that you can’t get just by watching videos.

Connor is a fantastic teacher. He really has a great work ethic that makes the students feel really proud of their accomplishments. Every time I have a class with him, he encourages me and structures the class so it doesn't feel like work. Connor is one of a kind, and I'm very proud to have him as my drum teacher. If you want to learn how to play the drums in a stress-free environment and make it feel like an exciting adventure, then Connor's the one for you!

Connor has a real passion for music, and he inspires students with this passion. He makes the lessons interesting, attractive, age appropriate and guides the students with patience and love.
Paul started drum lessons when he was 4 years old and continue for 2 years, until Connor left Calgary.
We are missing you, Connor!

I took drum lessons with Connor for 10 consecutive years and I have to say that I will forever consider it to be one of the best chapters in my life. Connor took the time to shape me into the drummer I am today. He focused a lot on training me to be versatile in all styles of music. He showed me lots of different kinds of genres that expanded my horizon instead of secluding me to one specific style. Not only did Connor teach me about drums but in addition to that he strived to teach me how to become a well rounded musician too! He is an amazing teacher and a great role model, I question if I would have even been playing in a professional touring band in this day and age if it weren’t for Connor’s endless dedication to his craft.
He always ensured that I never lost confidence or fell out of my skills with everything that he introduced me to within that particular decade of my life and because of that, I have so much respect and admiration towards him. Anyone who decides to have Connor as their own drum teacher will 100% gain and grow their own passions and that would truly be the best decision they could ever make especially if they see themselves continuing on the path of music as well.

When I began taking lessons with Connor he really found a way to engage and inspire me to get better at drums. Connor always made sure to keep the lessons light, informative, and productive all while having fun. He was always very encouraging and played a large role in growing my passion for music. As a female drummer I encounter many road blocks in an instrument that is predominantly male. However, Connor was a very positive role model for me and allowed my experience playing drums to be entirely positive. Over the course of my time spent studying with him my passion for drums grew, and I decided to further my education in music. I studied Percussion for 2 years at Macewan University and I continue to play. After finishing at Macewan University I began teaching drums and have been for the last few years. I have always attributed Connor’s teaching and the time I spent in lessons with him to play a role in my decisions to grow my passion for music and my pursuit of higher learning in education to become a teacher.

For any student looking to learn from one of the best, I can attest that Connor fits the bill. You will learn at your own pace with much better technique than you could with YouTube videos.. I do not hesitate to recommend Connor to any aspiring percussionist.

We were looking for an authentic and cool drum class in private with a studio feel and a modern technique. We found it with Connor! His professionalism mixed with a relaxed attitude and sensitivity make the classes fun and efficient. So happy we found him! Highly recommended.

I took lessons from Connor for 8 years and he is an excellent instructor. He genuinely cares about his students and creates a comfortable environment that makes it fun to learn. He was a role model for a younger me, positively influencing both my music and my life. I definitely recommend him for anyone looking to learn the drums or push their skills further.

I had Connor as my drum teacher for 7 years. I learned everything to become an expert drummer including everything from rudiments and reading sheet music, to copying song drum beats and winning drum solo contests. I would have never asked for a better mentor!

I had about two years of drumming with Connor. I started as a total beginner and just wanted to learn how to play. Connor did an amazing job of making my learning comfortable and I trusted skills he was teaching me. The weekly lessons were interesting and he helped motivate me to continue to progress and I'm still playing, thanks to Connor!
